Awards Categories

These categories cover the full supply chain from silviculture to logging, road civil engineering and then to truck drivers, port marshalling and stevedoring. Some will be very specific to a sector of the industry but the general ones are available to anyone. Nominations can be made by your company, your manager, your colleague or you can self-nominate. If you require assistance completing the required content please contact us and we can assist you.

Criteria for each of the awards categories can be found below.

Trainee of the Year

This award recognises an individual’s commitment to self-development and skill achievement through industry training

To be eligible for this award the trainee must:

  • Demonstrate safety and/or environmental leadership
  • Show evidence of expertise/specialisation
  • Demonstrate a high quality of work output
  • Show evidence of professional development (current and planned)
  • Show recognition by peers and employers… (which is letters/videos/snapchat etc of endorsement)

Note: Modern Apprentices who are in a continuing Modern Apprenticeships programme or who completed their Modern Apprenticeship during the training year are not eligible.

Training Company/Contractor of the Year

This award recognises a company/contractor that demonstrates a successful and purposeful commitment to people development through industry training. The winner demonstrates a consistent training programme, culture and vision.

To be eligible for this award the company must:

  • Demonstrate a successful and purposeful commitment to people development through industry training. This includes a consistent training programme, culture and vision
  • Have an industry training history of at least two years.
  • Have their nomination supported by the General Manager/Managing Director/ CEO or similar of the nominating organisation

Note: Training provider organisations are not eligible for this award.

Forestry Excellence

(Individual involved in establishment, silviculture, fire)

This award recognises an individual who works within one of these areas across the forestry operations chain and demonstrates excellence beyond best practice guidelines.

To be eligible for this award the individual must:

This award recognises any individual employee who has excelled in an elected skilled professional section but has only been in the industry for a minimum of two years. This award can only be won once by an individual.
